better end to fluke season than start
had a much better last few trips of fluke fishing than the struggle to start. Fish were finally where we expected them to be for the time of season/water temp, etc. but they still had to be coerced into committing to bite. I seemed to have better luck with a big kalins grup rubbing in quid procure than the gulp when it came to bigger fish a few days. I also nailed a nice 26" mini mat on a lure i frankensteined in my garage which was pretty cool.
we also had some real nice seabass released knowing they will be totally disappeared by the time the season opens back up haha. also some giant porgy as bycatch on jig as well  https://s3.amazonaws.com/photos.fish...0b349456e1_800 https://s3.amazonaws.com/photos.fish...0b58b34474_800 https://s3.amazonaws.com/photos.fish...0b58b51a82_800 https://s3.amazonaws.com/photos.fish...0b58b5dc79_800 https://s3.amazonaws.com/photos.fish...0b58b6c8d3_800 On a side note, not NJ, but a while back I took a trip with my buddies (like we have in the past for giant bluefin and giant alligator gar) but this time more low key down in alabama for normal sized fish haha. we had puppy reds, speckled trout, and some sweet drag burning jack crevalle. I'll throw those pics in here too cause i don't think i shared here. https://s3.amazonaws.com/photos.fish...0b58a8f227_800 https://s3.amazonaws.com/photos.fish...0b58acd9f5_800 https://s3.amazonaws.com/photos.fish...0b34c87951_800 |
