Bouncing around lately, weekend Pikes, Fluke….
 

Been in the mood to Kayak or hike lately so that’s what I’ve been up to recently. The weather is absolutely delicious right now. I can’t get enough of it. Y’all can keep the 95 degree temps and humidity down south. I hate it. Sorry, not sorry!

Anyway, some adventures have taken me to the Deep South to relearn the Snake and Bowfin fishery. Haven’t landed any yet but hooked quite a few with some random Green Carps to 6ish lbs. in the mix. No pic of the big one due to a quick release on the lift, oops!

Been hitting the river for the pristine river Pike and that’s been going quite well eventhough the waters the lowest I’ve ever seen it. The drought we’re in is crazy. Sheesh! Rain please! Pikes hooked have been pretty fierce with there strikes and the aerials are always awesome to watch out for during the fight.

August is my favorite time to Fluke certain areas but I haven’t hit it hard til this past weekend. Action was plentiful but I was a bit rusty with the jig for some reason. Landed a few keepers but lost one too many being anxious setting the hook like a wild man and then proceeding to rip the bait out of there mouths. Easy, easy, it’s not a Blackfish. Be nice to the silly flatfish! Looking forward to playing with them very very soon. Get out there fellaz. The weather is perfect and everything is in a feeding frenzy. TIGHT LINEZ!!!

the heat stopped for now, I cant wait for rain :D nice fish!
