Mission under the sun
 

Had a spur of the moment day off at the last minute so jumped on it quick and took full advantage. Hit up a spot I usually am successful at and beat the banks hard but struck out quick. Didn't hesitate to relocate to a different spot and found some life on a river. The bite was good but the sun was stronger. Landed a few bass on both sides of the river then had to call it. Dropped a pin on the way back home and found a cool little spot with some good shade coverage and a nice smallie waiting there patiently for me. Nice end to a much needed day off.

Solid catch in this crazy heatwave. I gotta get a hat similar to that. My bald spot is screaming from that big bright yellow thing in the sky. Sheeesh!!!:D

Thanks guys. Was def rough under the sun all day.
Well worth it! While casting out with no hits the 1st few times, he came outta nowhere and literally hit so hard he set the hook on himself...I just reeled in after. Kinda made my day!
Eddie, the hat may look stupid, but it works wonders with the sun! I like to think it carries a touch of luck with it too. Couple bucks well spent.
Got out for a touch before that monsoon came rolling in and found a nice Passaic Larry while throwing my homemade jerkbait. Not too big at all, but besides pike, that's the 2nd species that bit that lure. Been throwing the homemade popper around alot but nothing but topwater carp this season. 1st year I've caught them consecutively with my popper. A lot of strikes by bass, but no hook-ups this year.
