Back Bay Bunkers
 

Maybe not the big schools of bait that will show up later but there are some bunkers in the back. A walk along the shoreline in several places including Cliffwood and R.B Waterfront Park turned up more than a few freshly killed bunkers. There were a few early birds that crossed the creek at Union Beach but there were no public reports about catches.

I’m sure that a few pics will be up on this board soon.

Hundreds of Gannets bombing away off Port Monmouth yesterday.

That is the tell-tale sign and they are right on time. The gannets are migrating north and always stop off in the N.Y. Bight on their way. The snow runoff might have chilled the water a bit but it is still clean without any muddy residue. Don't get too giddy about the upcoming bass season yet. A lot has to happen first. Check your fishing logs. Right now, things look to be right on track.
