Ice report
 

I was watching some ice this week that was forming and returned yesterday before the rain to give it a go with rob skunk. We spudded our way out on some early ice for a short session. We found 3” and didn’t have much of a area to play with but we were able to chase some flags and knock the dust of the tip ups. Hope it’s not the last of the ice for this year but we’ll see....

That's a surprising report. I wasn't even thinking of ice. It's cool that you had your eye on it during the week. During my teens, I once went out on all fours, ice two inches thick, and cut the holes for tip-ups with a hatchet, just sort of tapping through so as not to disturb things. Water was crystal clear & I just went out as far as the bottom edge of the 10-foot drop. Usually caught pickerel & bass in that pond, but did get skunked that day despite the efforts.

It is good to see that you guys found some ice to play on. with the temps doing that up and down thing again we are not making much ice but the winter has just started. It was looking good before Christmas and then it took a dive, lets hope we all can get out on some ice that does not crack under your feet as you go. the perch that you posted is nice to see. Chrisper posted some pics of nice crappies too so they want to play it is time to amp up the ice dance a bit.

Long range south of 78 ain't looking great. Hoping it changes. These select baits ain't gonna get eaten by dragons in my garage! Lol.

I went fly fishing yesterday and found plenty of ice in my rod guides! :(

You could always use them in the boat! Put them on some kites and balloons be like fishing for tuna🤓
