Mixed Bag on the River 6/4
 

Hit the river for two hours today. As I was dragging my kayak to my spot a jet ski whipped by like he was in the barnegat bay causing wakes which I am sure spooked the fish. Luckily, as I paddled down stream I started getting some action. Landed 4 aggressive crappies. I then casted my spinnerbait over a small branch and a fiesty pickerel smashed it and I ended up breaking the branch and got him in. I also landed 3 pike in the 22"-25" range. All fish were healthy looking and released safely. As I was heading back the jet skiers came back down but slowed down when they saw me. One took off about 30 yds once he passed me and caused more wakes. I told his buddies I could have f*ckin flipped if he was any closer and he should slow down. They apologized and said there was something wrong with him. They were fishing from their jet skies and said they didn't catch anything. Maybe cause their engines were so loud and their dumb buddy was ripping by. I should have got a license #. Is it even legal to fish off a jet ski in the passaic river? Oh well I went home happy. Tight lines everyone!

LOL jet ski fishing ???!!! :confused:

Now that you think of it.. there are some logs and blowdowns around the upper stretches that would make a nice ramp for some super high jumps on the jet skis :cool:

But ill settle for pike fishing before I do anything that extreme :D

u just cant fix stupid!

Luke I have seen guys out in Raritan Bay fishing from jets skis with rod holders and catch coolers mounted on them.

It's my dream to fight a fish whilst going off a jet-ski ramp. You always hear about the fish jumping out of the water, now it's our turn!!!! :cool:
