Solo run Easter stripers
1 Attachment(s)
Left SR at 930 knowing I would have to be back due to the forcast by 2.
was greeted with flat seas , light wind behind me so flew up pretty quick . was bait everywhere as soon as I rounded the hook . but it was all pinned to the bottom . trolled mojos through pod after pod of bait without a sniff . knew it would have to turn on around the change . miles of gannets sitting on the water waiting also . finally saw gannets start to climb pulled the mojos in and ran about a mile as the gannets started hitting the water like bowling balls . Started jigging a ripple shad and hooked 6 bass before anyone was around . then seemed like there were 10 boats just appear from no where , shut bite down pretty quick . Picked 2 more for a total of 8 bass between 15 and 25# all released to play another day .. decided to make run back in building seas , boat washed up and back home by 2. nice morning just being out . |
Re: Solo run Easter stripers
Way to go Dan... I’ve been seeing a lot of birds working in sandy hook bay but they don’t seems to want mojos or Stretches.

I think its all about being there when the bass are feeding. when bait and bass are glued to the bottom they just aren't feeding. when you see bait coming up, and fish above the bottom they are going to eat anything. . |
