Do you miss the excellent reports that sponsor charter and party boat captains were putting up everyday? I know i do!

It really is financially and emotionally draining for anyone in this business that relies on it for their sole source of income. The double whammy is as a business owner, you paid a 15.3% self employment tax on top of being taxed on your profits. And, if you own 5% or more of your business, you don't qualify for unemployment benefits.

Some people look at these boat owners and think to themselves... Wow what a life these guys have. Doing what they love and getting paid for it. It's not as easy as it seems... I got my license years ago and thought I'd try it. Believe me, even back then when the regulations were more favorable, there are easier ways to make a living. Pile the crappy regulations on top and now the virus, these people are hurting.

As mentioned above, when they're able to get back to work, they'll need all the support we can muster. Put aside some of that stimulus money so you can enjoy some much needed time on the water and help support the businesses that support us and this great sport of ours.
