scroll down to "Passaic River Pike Stocking Locations Maps"

note that pike are found way further upstream than where they stock. Such as upstream of the stanley park dam.

As for pike fishing along the Passaic River, is this generally a shore-based fishery and are lures or live bait preference

not sure, but they holdover year round so no need to wait for stocking.

A yak is a great idea on the passaic, however NJ-Dave has some truth behind it; some sections are blocked up by log jams.
Not good for any watercraft as you'll be portaging over logs, and if you cant get over them, around on the bank which is muddy and slippery. The lower downstream the less you'll run into it tho.

Definitely Pike in the Millstone and Cranberry lake. Passaic River? Where is this? Do the pickerel get big in this river?
