Fisher Price IV 9/25-9/27 AM & PM Striped Bass
9/25 - Ran a local evening striper trip. Started off slow with wind against and lousy conditions. Towards the end of the night the conditions became better and the fishing picked up a bit. Managed a keeper around 14# and 3 slot fish for the evening.
9/26 AM - Had Matt and crew out. Tough conditions all morning with wind against tide, but the guys fished hard boxing 3 keepers to 15# and a few shorts. 9/26 PM - Ran our open boat trip this afternoon. Started out with tough conditions with wind against tide. Once the tide got better we managed to land 2 nice keepers before conditions deteriorated again. Took a ride and found a nice bite to finish up the night. Ended up boxing 4 keepers to 18# and our limit of 5 "bonus" fish. 9/27 - Ran our open boat trip this morning. Nice pick of fish all morning boxing our limit of unders to 17# and releasing a bunch of other keepers and a few shorts before calling it an early morning. https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds |
Re: Fisher Price IV 9/25-9/27 AM & PM Striped Bass
I would like to give a big shout out to Capt. Derek and his mate Jimmy. They worked hard today to put us on the fish.We had a really good group of guys on the open boat charter.
I'm from Miami and my mom suffered a broken neck a few years ago so traveling up here to our house that was finally rebuilt after Sandy wiped it out and taking care of her I was dying to get out fishing. When I called Capt. Derek he was fully booked and we are leaving early tuesday so I was a bit disappointed but a guy canceled and an hour later he called me back and said he had a open spot. I think when I saw his number calling me back I think I answered on the first ring. I guess you could call it Karma. I was super excited to get on the type of boat I'm used to fishing on. I guess you could call it a midsized open fisherman at 32" with all these 42' to 53' footer out on the market now. Capt. Derek's got a great boat and with the 4 strokes its super quiet and no diesel fumes to smell. The bite was bit a bit slow at first but then turned on and we where limited within a few hours of the charter. As you can see from the cart full of nice sized fish. We had a bunch of double headers and released some shorts and quite a few keepers. It was a great charter and I got my first Striper plus a bunch more we had to throw back. I just wanted thanks to Capt. Derek and Jimmy! I've run a bunch of boats down in south florida and these guys are on the bite! Don't lose my number Jimmy when you get back to Florida you got a almost free ride snook fishing with us. Same goes for you Capt. Derek. We'll put you on the snook, big tarpon, or kite fishing for sails. If the weathers nice a short flight to Bimini for some wahoo or big grouper fishing in the winter. Catch'em Up! Jonathan Kaany |
