Outboard Water Pump Replacement Cost

How much should replacing the water pump in a 1984 Mariner 40HP motor cost???

In our area, probably in the $300-350 range.
At least that is what it is for larger engines.
I can't imagine it is any cheaper for a 40hp.

Material costs are not that high. Labor ( as usual ) is the biggest cost. A lot of time in disassembly and re-assembly( some times more than once if not lined up correctly). Possibly think about sensor too while you're there.

I'd agree the costs will be close, unless there's something that makes it easier or harder( frozen bolts, removable engine, etc.)
