Definitely should’ve stayed home today

Got the bug last night And couldn’t get it out of my head, so I got up very early this morning to go try and fish for some salt water species. Despite the weather report, I needed some salt air in my lungs so I drove to the spot. I was in full rain gear so I stayed dry, but after 2 hours of soaking clams with nothing I called it. I left my house fully knowing I would probably catch nothing, so expectations were low, but my hands couldn’t last as long as my brain wanted them to.

I did do a lot of scouting for spring time, really want to get on more fish in the salt this year, so it wasn’t a useless trip. Even though it was a crappy morning, it was great to get that air in my lungs. Wish I lived a bit closer to the shore. Tight lines!

Nice try man in less than ideal conditions!

General area of where you gave it a shot?

Time on or with the water is often quite therapeutic. Keepers are another story.

You speak the truth! Felt great to stand on the sand and breath in the salt air. The sound of the rain was calming too. the fish will come next time!

Focus on shallower back waters versus anything near the ocean. The back will warm a bit faster.
