I’m looking to sell the first custom rod I’ve ever had built. The builder was Mike Garone. It was finished and started to fish in June of 2016. I’ve fished it fairly hard over the past several years. As the pictures show, it’s not brand new any more. The guides have minor rust on them(minor, they still have a lot of life) and there are some marks on the blank. The marks are scratches, and by no means hurt the blank itself. Just cosmetic. This rod has caught a ton of big fluke and a lot of keeper blackfish.

The cork is is very high grade and still in excellent condition. The blank handles 8-14 ounces very well. I’ve actually put 24 ounce on it while fishing Nantucket, which was a bit bendy, but it did the job. This is an all around excellent tog rod, but is more suited for deeper water/heavy current.

I absolutely love the rod, but after becoming a builder myself I am transitioning my arsenal to be all built by myself. The blank is UCE800Mega. It was cut from 8’0 to 7’6, and has moderate fast action. I paid $530 2 1/2 years ago. I think $225 is reasonable for both of us. I live in Staten Island, rather meet here, or in reasonable distance.
