5/30 Manasquan River Report
 

Arrived at the spot I’ve been fishing for the past few weeks. Casted the same plug that I’ve been catching with. Results were the same, as I landed 6 out of the 8 bluefish I hooked and missed 4 other bites. Blues were the same size that I’ve been catching in the #2-4 class. Unlike last spring, I’ve only seen 1 true jumbo of @#15 caught this spring.

Had a guy fluking next to me and he only had two bumps in 3+ hours, Also didn’t see any nets go down in the boats/kayaks that were drifting the stretch I was fishing.

I caught, tagged and released 19" and 18" fluke with an Ava A17 and caught and kept an 18.5" hickory shad on a teaser in 4 hours of casting an Ava and teaser rig into the inlet yesterday evening. Caught 9 fish: 4 fluke, 3 blues, a shad and a sea robin in 7 trips to the inlet this year.
