Best Caulk or Silicone for deck seams
The factory caulk Sea Hunt used for the deck of the boat is garbage and is cracking and peeling. What do you guys recommend for re “caulking” the areas on the deck that aren’t holding up? And do you remove the existing caulk like you would a bath tub or just go over it?
Thanks in advance |

3M 5200 or 4200. 5200 is more permanent. If you think you may need to replace it or remove it, 4200 is much easier to deal with.

Re: Best Caulk or Silicone for deck seams
X2 on the 4000 UV as 5200 isn’t uv rated. FWIW I would remove what old sealer I could then revaluing the seams. Done right that 4000 will last a long time.

BoatLife Life-Caulk. Whatever you do, don't use a silicone caulk.
