Surf report - seal
1 Attachment(s)
Fishing was slow but what a beautiful morning. There were a couple of seals on the beach when I started and one of them hung around for hours. Photo attached. I wonder if he was sick?

Re: Surf report - seal
In Maine, I have seen seals in the water, or on rock ledges just above the water line, but never on a sand beach. In NJ, I saw them on a beach from a distance, but never up close. Is there any danger to humans if a seal is close? Probably not.

Re: Surf report - seal
I encountered a seal on the beach in Hatteras, NC with my Grandsons one day. It was fouled up in monofilament, which we attempted to get off him. The seal was angry and snapped at us when we got near. They are a wild animal, and should be treated as any wild animal. This is not a petting zoo.
