Annual Trout Meeting Cancelled Due To Winter Storm

Due to the expected effects and aftermath of today's winter storm the trout stocking meeting scheduled for 10am tomorrow, Saturday, at the Pequest Trout Hatchery has been postponed. Rescheduling information will be announced when available.

Well then, the Trouser Trout party will happen another day! It’s probaby a good thing it was cancelled. Took me an hour to get home from work going from Rahway to Kenilworth this evening. Tree branches and closed roads and downed power lines were freshly stocked today in UC! LOL!!!! Unreal!!!:eek:

At this time no new date has been scheduled. It's possible it may be held the same weekend as the Pequest Open House which is the weekend before Opening Day, but it may be held earlier, or depending on the weather and the area's ability to recover from these storms it unfortunately may be cancelled altogether for this year. This latter is the least likely scenario but it is within the realm of possibility. Mother Nature seems intent upon dealing us a good bit of late season winter weather!
In the event it is re-scheduled everyone who is on the Div. email list will be notified as well as the notice being posted on the Div. website. Stay tuned!
Also despite the meeting being at best postponed and at the worst cancelled, the2018 stocking schedule should be posted on the Div. website very soon, possibly before the end of this week.

Thanks for the information! I've never been able to attend in the past and I'd really like to this year, I would like to bring up some information about the Spruce Run Creek.

Latest info from the state - Unfortunately the meeting will not be rescheduled but we will be posting information soon about the upcoming season.
There will be an e-mail address on the page we post with the meeting information – you can send your suggestions/comments/information to that address. Also, you can make suggestions when the Fish Code Amendments are introduced – see http://www.njfishandwildlife.com/codechange.htm for information.
