Other than the state park, where else can i walk on to hopatcong to drill some holes? Do they let you walk on at lees or any of the marinas on the lake?

access to the cong is difficult unless you know somebody who has property on the lake there is no other place to park and get access.the lake is 22" down so lakes end is not a good option right now. the state park is really the only place to get on the lake.

Pretty sure Laura from Dows will let you get it through her. Seen people do that this past weekend.

Only other place is where I had no issues of getting on ice was from yacht club.

I haven't ice fished there in a few years but you used to be able to park in the dirt lot right before the River Styx bridge and walk out towards the main part of the lake. Not sure if this is still possible or not.

I accessed the ice last Sunday from Dows, parked up top then brought my gear down to dock and walked right onto the ice. With that said, I also purchased over $100 in gear first, so that have made helped. I did see many other people coming and going from the dock at Dows.

you need bait to fish tipups, so stop at dows on way to the ice and grab ur bait and walk on there, its central and a good overall location, she needs the support from locals

I say what a shame.....NJ's largest public lake and yet you still may have a problem due to private land around the impoundment. Not fair and not right. Something should be said/done.......just because marinas close up does not mean the fishing season has come to a close!:mad::mad:

not as bad as most people think i can think of 6 spots off the top of my head besides the state park spread around the lake that you can get on. Problem is parking for many of the spots after a big snow, but right now that's not an issue.

the real problem is peeps leaving the garbage around.there used to be tons of places that would let you park but after having to clean up every day now there is only a handful.
