Sea Bass in Feb??
Looks like there's a proposal floating around to open up Sea Bass for a short period of time in Feb 2018. Problem is, depending on how the rest of this years landing reports go, it may force us to give up some days in the spring......
So what are your thoughts?? Sorry some new options have been brought to my attention so closing this post and poll. Please review the revised options and vote again here http://www.njfishing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=100143 |
Re: Sea Bass in Feb??
rather have seabass season during the time between fluke close and the stripers arrive. with the early fluke closure, there was nothing til seabass opened (and no i don't count porgy haha)

Re: Sea Bass in Feb??
Problem with opening in Feb is how many fishable days will you get in the dead of winter?

Re: Sea Bass in Feb??
How many days are we talking about giving up? It would be nice to give the party boats something to sail for in Februrary, even though it would only be the offshore ones

Re: Sea Bass in Feb??

Re: Sea Bass in Feb??
My log books show late December and the whole month of January tops for offshore sea bass. Like Duffman said, how many fishable days in the dead of winter. We are talking about the big 6 pound offshore sea bass correct, not those 13" fish people keep inshore ??
Where are the sea bass in February................60 miles offshore. |
