weekend slamfest X2 - late report
 

PART 1

headed out early to get a morning quickie in before heading to the shore. got bait just after 6 and met Zach for the first time, BS'd for a bit and headed to the water. after a crappy launch situation I got moving and scanning the sketchy water looking for life. Headed to where I left them last and in the area I got a glimpse of some insane marks. Started setting up a spread and got nailed setting the 4th line in w 4 hookups, managed 3 of the 4. After that I just ran 2 downlines and fought singles and doubles til 10am when i ran out of bait. they ate anything I had, dead spinners, half eatens, didnt matter. Lost a nice 30's class pike boatside that worked thru a 15lb floro leader, all the rest were hybrids, I think 22 in all. Had 2 nice fish at 24" the rest were all low 20s fish, only 1 rat for the morning. Thanks to Zach for the couple extras, I actually needed them haha........pics to prove it

headed up from the shore sunday night and got a last minute call to go offshore for some tunnies. wife wasnt happy but oh well, got my stuff 2gether after sitting in traffic til midnite to get home and grabbed 3 hrs sleep and headed back down the shore w Mikey. Made our stops for last minute jigs and grub and out of the slip around 530. After a 3+ hr steam offshore about 80 miles or so we got to the grounds. searched on the troll for a while and we saw some life and began to jig em. I struck first blood and pretty soon the whole crew was on them. we had 3 good shots at them, w the last spot being insane. everyone hooked up w a chunk slick going and falsies and albies all over the topwater bite. It was fish on, fish off, fish on, and so on for a solid hour w mayhem. with our arms tired we kept our boat limit and made the long steam back in snotty 5-6 footers for another 3+hrs. beat tired but so worth it, too much action to take pics while it happened, heres the result.........sushi for everybody haha

Another day of EPIC catching! Wow!!! Way to slam em on the sweet and saltwater. The amount of Hybrids caught is amazing. Way to show those ROCKETS who's boss my brother. YEA BUDDY!!!

Great report! I guess the hybrids are starting to beef up for the long winter, one helluva a catch. Are those tuna yellow fin? Been some bite this year for those making the trip to the blue water. Great report and enjoy the tuna steaks!

Way to double dip jimmy. Sick brids and I talked with mikey about the tuna. Sounds like you guys had a ball out there doing light tackle tuna! I'm yet to hit the deep this yr. It's fuggin Killin me!!!!
