Monster Hunter (part 1: Catfish) night one...minor success!!!
2 Attachment(s)
Hit a local spot because I got out of work too late to fish the big D. Caught my two first decent channel cat of my journey on hotdogs. One was darker shorter and fatter and the other longer but more lean. They both faught well and reminded me of fishing for them when I was younger. Not the monsters I need but a good start. No love on the live baits yet. Soooonnnn!

Nice catch dude! Stay on top of these cats and you'll get your MONSTER. Those are healthy looking specimens right there!

Awesome! I am also looking for big catfish this year anywhere I can.
The first photo i think is a white catfish (i never seen one irl but i'd imagine them to look like that) and the second photo is 100% channel catfish. |

Hard to tell, could be the flash but yeah, white barbels would be a white cat. And that's one big white cat! And a very nice channel!

Nice set of kitties!
White cat state record is 14 lbs and was caught in my neck of the woods. If you have em as big as the one in the pic where you're fishing, keep at it! Perhaps the new record ends up on the end of your line! |

That could be an unusually large White Catfish or a really ugly Channel Catfish. To my eyes, a White Catfish has the head of a Bullhead and the body of a Channel catfish. Re: Monster Hunter (part 1: Catfish) night one...minor success!!!
Didn't state record white cat came out from some pond in East Brunswick.
Correct me if I am wrong but that's what I heard. Note to self: when fishing for cats with Dale do not bring hot dogs or wrong species will be hooked. White cats tail is not forked like the channel cat, at least that's the main difference that I seen: Photo of white cat from last year: http://i1379.photobucket.com/albums/...psabe1e176.jpg Andre |

Please don't put the hook in it before you eat it...but if you do take video of the aftermath!
