Larry Hart is broken
 

Had an e-mail from Larry this morning, instead of fishing the FSOS Tournament on Saturday as planned, he opted for a concert with his son. Playing frisbee before the concert he fell and broke his wrist. Yes his jigging wrist.

Now for the next 6 weeks he can only watch from the sidelines and live thru the reports on NJ Fishing. It will also give him time to replenish his supply of bucktails, as he fished with me the week after the RFA charter and by the end of the day he was scrounging.for bucktails.

Hope it heals quickly and you get back in the game.

Damn that really sucks, but the thing that's good with bones is when they heal they heal stronger- I'd watch out for this guy fellas when it's all said and done !! If it were me I'd look on the bright side that it's not tog season yet... I would have to say that action raises your odds up 10 fold! Best of luck healing, way better than a leg- I did that one... Plate and 7 screws... And rolled my van over, road rash on arm just about gone, but I did extract a piece of glass just last week off the top, one more shard to go in the elbow and I'll be solid again.., so remember with every negative there is always a positive side: you'll be back and better than ever... My next lager is to you brother! ��

I am good with welding if ya want a hook or something in the meantime, remember NASA didn't make Velcro just for sneakers...

WOW - I feel the love :o

I may be Hart-broken, but these kind thoughts are truly heart-warming.

Went with my son (Angina) to see the Allman Brothers' last hurrah at PeachFest on Saturday (FSOS-day). They rocked. Actually peformed the entire Eat A Peach album flawlessly (although Mountain Jam was a snoozer). I must've had a flashback from 1973 and fell flat on my face tossing a frisbee :eek: Went to break the fall with both of my hands out-stretched, but because I was on a mountain my right wrist took all of my (substantial) weight. Oh well - could've been worse. Iced my wrist for the rest of the show, visited the first-aid hut for an ace-bandage and enjoyed the rest of the concert. Knew I was screwed when the swelling doubled my wrist size the next morning.

Fluking is probably over for me this season, but I'll be back for Tog and Stripers. Thanks for the kind thoughts EVERYONE :)

I hope all goes well Larry get well soon. As for flluking I'm almost out of bucktails I lost most of mine last week on the OE. I refuse to buy anymore all I got is gulp left so I'm thinking about hanging it up for the season. I'm sticking to bottom fishing I lost my love for losing $100 a day on bucktails. All I got for this season is 2 keepers for NJ & one of them was a pool winner on the Misty Morn. So out of frustration I'm thinking about hanging up the Fluke fishing. So I guess I'll see you on the blackfish grounds this fall. Get well soon & I hope to see you soon.

Maybe it went something like this - I heard Larry was starting the mosh pit and went up to stage dive , when he was in mid-air the crowd parted and when he went to break his fall he put his hands down and broke his wrist . Oh wait a minute it was an Allmans brothers concert - :D

I have been there and broke my wrist before and the worst thing about it is - Which Hand you wipe with ??? Hopefully the good one - Been there done that ? It sucks -

Don't get down Larry.
Happened to me 2 years ago at the end of July, both bones...needed an operation.
They put a plate and 10 screws in it and I was able to fish in less than a month, I was able to use one hand to jig, when I got a fish I would put the butt end of the rod under my arm and lay the rod on the cast for support. It was a pia but better than sitting home.

Larry, hope you're healed up quick, bad time of season if there is a "bad time" for it to happen. Let me know what bucktails you're in need of for replenishment, I know you lost plenty. :D
