Does anyone know if they will be open to the public this year? Pending a permit.. I called the phone # and its disconnected, i emailed them and the email bounced back..

A lot of stuff in the papers lately about the Newark Watershed Commission and the crazy corruption that has gone on the past few years within it. Hoping us fishermen don't catch the shaft as result of it.

Stopped in the office and got my permits today - business as usual.

Interesting note - they are in the process of installing video security cameras at all the dams and boat launches which are monitored real time on a big screen in the office.

you stopped at the echo lake office, or the one down in newark?

i wouldn't mind the video cameras. they can keep an eye on my truck and keep people from wading around like it's a beach blocking the launch ramp.

The Echo lake office - Rich is the only full-time employee left and runs it all.

I'm in favor of the cameras too... as I would also be in favor of a port-a-john... :p
