Summertime Ice Fishing 2/23
Got out with MikeyTopaz, Duckorbleed, Getanet, Jigman13 and a few buddies for some summertime ice fishing today. Weather was obviously beautiful and so was the fishing. Pickerel, Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Perch, Bluegills, and a very nice Pike came through the holes today. Ice conditions were awesome as well, no more trudging through snow drifts. Enjoy.

Great day with boyz as always, some nice teal nice fish and solid action.pike def got the feedbags on thats for sure and scotty rumor has it theres 50 inchers in there :p

Forgot to mention the late day kitty cat, Mikey! Lol... Thanks to Mikey & Rocco--def a good time with the NJF guys. Here's a few more pics. I was fortunate enough to land one of the biggest LMB I've ever caught in NJ yesterday. Dale says I'm spoiled hahaha... The first 2 bass I pulled out were close to a 10 lb bag weight!!! Place is siiiiiick! Rocco's pickerel was a slob, too.
And Mikey, that pike was dope. Slid him onto the ice like a seal or penguin poppin outta the drink! Lil' James Brown action while fightin' her--style points! Good stuff guys... |

yea man... there was def a decent chew most of the day aside from a midday lull... shallow, mid-depth, deep... i'm a bit sore from all the sprinting to far flags lol...

Was the best day I have had ice fishing in years !!!! Lots of fun and food can't wait to get back out there and do it again ! A big thank you to Rob and his buddy's for bringing the food

First things first, A HUGE THANK YOU TO ROCCO AND MIKEY!!!!!!!
Our day started off Not So Good, ended up running late but made it to our spot a little after seven. Jeremy and myself load up the sled and off we go with expectations off the charts and it's about a good half mile walk to our spot so we haulin ass and end up flipping the sled , everything flips over auger, gear and the bait BUT the lid stays closed some how. Quickly we're off again and about five minute later BOOM, the sled goes again! This time we loose about three dozen shiners on the ground! We tried to save them to no avail! MOTHER FXXXER was I Pissed!!!! Ready to blow a head gasket!!!! Jeremy calms me down a little as I am screaming my head off. Not at him just due to the situation at hand! NOW what are we gonna do? No bait to be found any where near us so we take Mikey and Rocco up on their invite and start headin North up 287. Ended up getting there in pretty good time. So we set up and not long after the flags are flying!!! Every one was into fish, all quality fish! Jeremy put a quite a display being only his third trip ice fishing. I think he ended up with about eight big fish for the day. I didn't do as well because I was using some big dead baits in hope of catching the BIG ONE! Mikey's pike was The BEAST of the day!!!!! Def the biggest pike I have ever seen!!! |

You guys are doing awesome out there this winter. I'm 99% sure it's you guys I see out there fishing by L. island when I visit my friend on LH on the weekends. Next time I gotta walk out there and introduce myself at least. You won't get me to sit out there in the cold with you fishing, especially when there's a warm house waiting there, but I'll come say hi for a bit next time.
