Alright fellas, with the cold weather coming in starting tomorrow night I believe its time to get some of you maniacs out on the ICE!!! Temps for the next 7 days are definitely looking to be in our favor. C'mon out, what else do you really have to do? Looking to start out on Monksville saturday January 11th. Sunday we'll try to get out on the one and only Lake Hopatcong. Come as you please and if you say your going to be there, well, show up!!! Just looking to get some of you fine members together. I've made alot of friends because of this fine site and making more is fine by me. So if your not busy let's get out and catch some fish. I'll see if I can whip up a big batch of my TEXAS CHAINSAW CHILI for the weekend, probably bring some dogs as well. Get off your couch, get your gear ready and LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Got a small propane grill to cook dem doggies if we need it. Not sure but most likely be at one of the two, possibly both one never knows!!!
Wifey owes me some fishing time since i was a good boy this year and did all the holiday crap and No fishing!
She just said this morning that she feels bad that i haven't fished! LOL Imagine that!!!

Obviously if the ice is unsafe we will not be out there. I don't want to put anyone in danger. Picked up a fireplace grate from the Home Depot for all the guys that can't stand the cold. Myself and Bob have been stock piling firewood since last season. There will be fire to keep everyone toasty and warm. I can't start a fire on every lake but find that its easy to get away with on Monksville. IT'S GO TIME!!!

Looking forward to putting a few more names with faces!!!:D

That's AWESOME DALE!!! You've been a good boy, Lol, time to do some fishing!!! I'd really like to get on the ice at Spruce or the Valley being as they're centrally located. Haven't been on either of them in 3 years.

Nothing to know Just show up and we'll school ya! Just need a few tip ups and a ultralight to jig and your good! These's are always some of the best meet and greets cause everyone can hang around and eat and drink and oh yea, FISH!!!! Bundle up and Come On Up!!!!

Everybody knows EDDIE knows how to have a good time!!!!

I'm not off many weekends but this one I am so I don't have any excuses not to show up on at least one of the days. Sounds like a great time and when your on monksville its good to bring good company with you because the fishin can bd non existant lol.

Ahhhh haaa ahh haa i knew this was coming!!!! 😋 ill be there both days, ill bring the gas auger dnt mind poppin holes for anyone. So i guess the big question is whos goin to be swingin for the fences with some big baits??? Really like to see someone pull a beast of a muskie out through the ice:D

For the next show I will be swallowing live Shiners and hurling them back up into the bait bucket, LOL!!!

I don't care if your a lurker, long time member, rookie or hack. C'mon up to Monks Saturday January 11th or Hopatcong Sunday January 12th!!! The ice will be good and safe by then. I haver my homies keeping an eye on the ice as it forms. Don't give me all the, I'm busy B.S., nobody is ever that busy after the holidays! You come up, bring a friend, bring a dog, bring a bottle. Bring whatever you want. Let's have a good time on the ice with the possibility of some fish being caught.

Im def coming up for both days. I always ice fish monksville but never ice fished hopatcong so it should be a great time!!

Ill be out on saturday at skunksville w u guys, I dont think LH will be ready but Ill keep an eye out maybe elsewhere if not ready.

Like Eddie said everybody make an effort to come out, Im bringing my shelter w/heat and a gas auger, so even if you dont have ice gear just dress warm and bring a trout rod or UL setup and Ill drill u as many holes as you want

If the ice isn't ready at Hopatcong, we'll need a second choice. Anyone have any ideas? Preferably a lake with some big fish and big panfish. I do love to eat some panfish this time of year.

Lookin good ran out a little while ago drove by the lake and the whole state park side was def locked up and looked to be safe! Il be headed out in the morning gonna shoot over to dows to get bait in the am ill keep ya guys posted on conditions on that side of the lake tomor! Looking good boyz! Gonna pick up some killer baits for skunksville next fri 😉

printing out a 2014 license then down to the basement to polish up the tip ups...

for you old timers who like do do this while everyone is on line to buy bait, click on the link below.. all you need is a printer and you can print out multiple copies in case you lose your license during the year... happened to me last year backpacking around clinton res... they can't make it any easier...

Hiked the west shore trail of Aeroflex with the wife today. About 60% of the lake is still open water. Didn't hike into the north pool but it looked frozen over although probably thin. Ice near the launch at the south end was real thin too. While getting our 2014 licenses at YOJ in Andover was told that Jefferson Lake is safe with people on it today.

Come one, come all! As of right now the weather is looking AWESOME for next weekend. We all no that can change. Ice is getting nice and hard with this Artic air in place. Monksville Saturday January 11th, Lake Hopatcong Sunday the 12th. Come hang out and possibly catch some fish. See you all out there. Let's get em BOYZ!!!

Mitch we'll be getting on the ice at Monksville from the Beech rd parking lot. North end always makes ice quickly. See you out there!!! I'll be up there around 7 am. :D

You guys think the ice will be safe for the weekend on both of them lakes? I have fished cranberry lake on 6 inches of ice with 2 to 3 inches of water on top scary but very slippery lol

MEET-N-GREET update. As of now the ice on Hopatcong is probably not going to be safe for this weekend. So with that said I'm going to go to Monksville Saturday and Sunday. It's all about meeting new people hanging out and having a good time. Is anybody with me? We caught some fish last year, unfortunately no Musky. COME ONE, COME ALL!!! The ice at Monks is safe. I wouldn't put anyone in danger. Looking to have a part 2 to the MEET-N-GREET on Hopatcong when the conditions permit. Probably hold part 2 on Sunday January 26. What do you think guys? I don't mind putting time in at the toughest Reservoir in NJ this weekend. Going to be a warm weekend so come on up and get JIGGY WITH IT!!!!

Im in! Gonna pick up some trout friday night hoping! Just like eddie said guys come hang out put some names to faces / bs a little and have a good time with a great group of guys! Swing for the fences with some big baits in hopes someone pulls a musky through the ice! I should have a few tip ups and a jiggin rod or two availible also for any newbies that wanna give this a shot also will have the gas auger come on guys and shoot the shit and wait for the one!!!!
