Re: OOPS? or Red right return?
Pretty easy to do in that area if you are not familiar with it... Those pilings are just under the water at high tide.
They improved the navigation markers in the area last year (I think) by adding some pilings with markers out in front of the old peer but still not 100% fool proof. They should have a red and green out in the bay to mark the entrance to the marina so you are lined up right when coming in to avoid those pilings. Surprised they haven't removed those old pilings all together since I know many people have screwed up their gear in them. Submerged Pilings Brought to You By Your Local Prop Shop ;) |
Re: OOPS? or Red right return?
Very easy to do there. You cant see those pilings at all at high tide. You can still cut through the pilings that they put up to stop people from doing that

Re: OOPS? or Red right return?
No chart on that vessel? Those pilings have only been there for 150 years

Re: OOPS? or Red right return?
Probably install by sea tow or tow boat US ;)

Re: OOPS? or Red right return?
That's worse then forgetting the plug

Re: OOPS? or Red right return?
I had asked someone why they don't remove them. He said they are privately owned and if owner removes them he will loose his rights to ever being able to build something there. I don't think anything will ever be built there but it made sense to me? It is very easy to do during high tide and if your not familiar with entry.

Re: OOPS? or Red right return?
Or having charts and knowing how to read them (whether paper or LCG). Clearly marked.
