Salmon Season!!!
 

My fishing partners went on a suicide run today, Mike, Mike and Pete. They hit
OZ first and there were a few fish, the water is still low. They headed north to SR where they had pretty good action for the rest of the day. Mike got his limit and a bunch of hook ups. Pete did ok as well. SRis still really low with a slow trickle of fish coming threw. The fish were laying low today staying on the bottom and not really moving too much. Ill be up Sept 21&22. YEA BUDDY! TIME TO BURN UP SOME REEL BEARINGS!!! TIGHT LINES!!!:D

Rumor has it that there was a HUGE RUN OF KINGS last night between 5-7 pm. Fish were running so fast that a couple anglers got knocked down into the water !!!:eek:

Yeaaaa buddy my buddy that owns a lodge in altmar confirmed that with me yesterday. like dsr facebook page awsome pics evennetting to fish at a time.lol fish on boyz!

My guy isnt answering his phone. Hes a river guide out of OZ. Just talked to somebody else, OZ and SR are pretty STACKED right now.

I was up Saturday and we landed 2 but hooked up alot more that we didnt land the fish are fresh and fast right now.Make sure you up you leader size alittle to do war with these fish.Water at the SR is at 185 right now in the mid 60s saturday heard it busted wide open sunday:eek:

Well my Salmon partner was up on SR again today. He went straight for the Clamshed. Thats where he stayed for 7 straight hours. His final tally for the day was 4/30 landed. He proclaims he saw more CHROME today than monday. Ill be up the 21/22nd. Oh yea, fellas make sure you have your rooms booked there doing work at the power plant up there. They brought in alot of workers from out of state, hotels, motels are filled to the max. TIGHT LINES!!!

Water levels are very low..cousin is up there now.. and its like goldfish in a fish bowl and the water will not get raised at all with the dam being so low with water levels and no rain in sight..

Years ago that ust to be a blast, but do 15 yrs on the salmon river - not as much anymore

I Agree my last years on the river was 94 or right aftr the NY"s day flood!
When I first started steelheafin in the early eighties it was one the the better rivers anywhere for quantity of mice fish
Taking upwards of fifteen fish a day was common in Nov thru early December!
Those days two floats worked the river I think one was Ken Bud the other guy Ron , can't remember last name!
Anyhow last time I fished the upper river counted over a dozen, left & never came back!
Started doing Erie tribs ! I can honestly say that even the better Michigan & Canadian rivers I spent years on never produced like the Salmon!!

Im headed up friday morning around 2-3 am. If any anglers want to join me last minute, come on up. I have a room, that will be 50$ for the nite per person and we'll just have to split the gas. I even have the big cooler ready to go if you want to keep a Salmonoid.

Leaving friday morning around 2-3 am and ill be home saturday night around 7-8 pm. I have the enjoyment of having a cheerleader daughter who has games every sunday. So my sundays of fishing are gone from now until the end of october.

Yep heard that yesterday and all the fish that are running up now supposely are all wild salmon the hatchery fish are yet still to come

I heard they are going to release some water on October 1st and 2nd anyone else hear of this. I will be up there battling salmon from Sept.30th till Oct.5th So Please save some stinky salmon for me to catch. Fish On can't wait. Wish I was up there now it's that good.
