Please invest 5 minutes of your time all. These useless politicians may or may not listen, but it gives some satisfaction just to make them aware, AGAIN. !

So much for those that still think we can work with commercials entities ! All these revelations are just the tip of the iceberg ! All in all nothing new here , we again look at it and do nothing , why worry about it we are getting our fair share! No mackerel , whiting , cod , flounder pretty soon limits will be useless , they can give a year wide open season , but there’s no fish .
It’s been a pathetic bottom fishing winter why ? Commercial bandits ? Or just the weather 😉

I've said it before Ill say it again-
Commercial fishing is the only occupation that all you do is take.
They do nothing for the resource- they give nothing back- take take take.
A FARMER HAS TO PLANT HIS SEEDS TO GET HIS PAY..!!

Re: Check this out (from J2)

The market price of porgies just fell through the floor. I doubt if that boat will target porgies again. They just ruined the fishing for the rest of the fleet. There is no profit in fishing for a species that won't pay the bills. The co-op has the records of the catch and has to report it. Where it goes from there and what is done with the report is only conjecture. When times are tough, commercial draggers fish for what they can catch and sell. Unfortunately, their nets are indiscriminant. That indiscrimination also leads to the high mortality rates of by-catch discards. In order to avoid stiff fines for over-fishing, fish that would ordinarily be marketed are tossed back to die. The video of excess dead fluke being discarded by a commercial boat still haunts me. I'm sure someone can post that link to enlighten you.

Complaining to them will get you no where. They don't hear the cha-ching. You just got to donate millions to them before they will do anything for you. Find one that will listen to you and then donate to his campaign. Hopefully thousands and thousands of fishermen will donate. I know if we all do, it'll be more than the commercial fishing industries gave.

GOOD LUCK with that, recreational fisherman have proven to be extreme tight wads, cant even get them to donate 10 bucks.

they ask the commercial guys for money to fight something they each throw 10 GRAND

Oh this reminds me, I have to sign up for the 2018 Saltwater Registry so the Federal Government knows what I am up to (like standing on a beach in November trying to C&R a striped bass)

The more people that register might make NMFS actually think a little more about giving our quota away to commercial fisherman.

as IF not enough people register they will just give it ALL to them

Agreed Madcrab that the complaining does no good and I usually get form letter responses from Menendez, Booker, & my rep Frelinghuysen, on various issues.
At least I voice my opinion & I feel better about it. Some guys just Pizz & moan on this and other websites.
I will continue to register on NJ registry, and will remain a small contributor to
SSSFF & RFA.
We all gotta do something if we want our heirs to ever enjoy our sport.
Tight Lines.

This is just one trip on one boat! Imagine what they all catch in a year! And they say the rod and reel guy that fishes on Saturday is wiping out all the fish! BS! Man they really got us where they want us! Pitiful!
