One of my buddies lives right there and loves it. That's a legit fish- but if it is one- -aren't they an Amazon species?making her a tank escapist?
I'm not a big catfish guy so could be wrong

Yes an exotic. Got too big for its tank & illegally stocked. Will not survive the cold water of the winter.

First of all that's one helluva a fish! Unbelievable catch! So your saying that fish either got that big in a fish tank or got that big after being released this past spring or they actually do survive winters here. Either that guy had one helluva a big fish tank, red tail catfish have insane growth rates or that fish has been in that pond for more than a few years. I'm choosing door number 3! Either way that's one beautiful fish. Have seen them caught on TV but would =never have expected seeing one caught in this country and of all places a duck pond in Seacaucus! Can't make this stuff up!

Wow, that's some catfish.
I guess this is another one of those cases where a guy buys a small fish that quickly outgrows his aquarium, so he tosses it into the local waterway.

In South Florida where tropical fish can survive through the winter, released Pacus can grow to the size of garbage can lids.

Beautiful Kitty,

You right Mark it wont survive winter. Bucket brigade will take care of this specimen by tomorrow. Countdown has begun.
