Re: big eyeball

I caught a similar sized walleye, yesterday wet wading the Delaware River south of Frenchtown, ........my pb!

I had caught 4 smallmouths up to 16” on my fav. lure: Rapala # 9
original floater rainbow trt.

Then @ dusk, in the middle of the river perched on the edge of a rock shelf,
I hooked the first one: a 22”er,………then a few cast later the abovementioned beast.

I don’t carry a net. So, I positioned myself below, & eased / landed them up onto the shelf.

They don’t fight much, but they are strong! I call them “River Rhinos”. With formidable teeth, dorsal fin spines & spikes on their gill covers you have to carefully, & securely, pin them down to remove the lure. One of their head shakes can draw your blood.

I kept the smaller one.
