not sure how you practice fighting bigger fish on the fly rod without getting frustrated about losing fish after fish while making mistakes but i guess that's what i'll have to do one of these days. maybe get on a small river smbass spot and just go to town on them. I feel like i should make myself like fly fishing more so i can get good at it when i need it.

Never really saw a difference in fighting a fish on the fly rod vs spinning rod. If the fish is big and is holding in current and won't budge. I'll usually put my rod tip down stream and to the side. I heard the fly line dragging in the water causes more pressure on the fish and then fish should move. The more you use a fly rod the better you'll get it takes a little practice . |
