mackerel is very oily so it is a great cut bait. I use it for bass, sharks, cats, everything. For flatheads I definitely prefer live bait though...

Live line a peanut on a bobber...they live fine in freshwater/ just don't get greedy and only put 10 in the bucket before you head to the lake...everything that swims loves to eat peanuts...

Good to know always wondered about peanuts in fresh water but never tried it. Be good to use as chum chunked up too then..... I can cast net em five minutes from my house maybe have to try it next year!!! Thanks for the tip!
