Re: Lookin For Another Boat
Gerry,
From the use you would give a boat I would personally go fo OB's! Gas is now cheaper than diesel fuel & the bucks you would put out for those engines would buy a lot of gas & thenewer OB's will deliver the economy to keep your pocketbook in tact ! Maintenance easier , decent warranties cost of ownership & maintenance a lot less especially with limited use! Great deals around now! That would be my choice hands down. Good luck!I |

Capt Lou.... I think you are right and it think that's were I'm headed.
Capt Bob..... Love those Blackfins. They do however require a lot of power because of the weight and deep vee.... Don't see many with outboards either. I will check it out Reefs..... The 3070 with twin outboards is on my short list... Love the lay out inside an out and Pursuit's have always had a great reputation... I kind an drawn to the 3070 Offshore with the center helm. |

28ft Master Marine with the diesel, tons of fishing room, the cabin is also decent. I hear they sip fuel too.

Re: Lookin For Another Boat
Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
Mikey - Doing that sort of thing is not in the cards for me but I appreciate the thought none the less... I'm too much of a hack to attempt that sort of stuff. One thing the insurance adjuster told me that makes a lot of sense is that they document everything that is wrong with the boat... Even things like small scratches on the hull and even under the water line. If the boat is mechanically sound and they scrap it, you could buy the boat back from them and just do the major repairs. There are probably going to be some people who do just that or there are going to be a lot of boats that are mechanically sound that get scraped that would be a good deal for someone that's handy. |
