With the end of Fluke fishing in Late August there were not that many people looking to go fishing only to catch Sea Bass and have to throw them back. I did a few off shore wrecks for Ling and Winter Flounder but it was frustrating to tell the guys you have to throw those black things back. That was not the story for opening day of Sea Bass. I ran an Open Boat with enough calls to have two boats running.I took off with 5 anglers that were foaming at the mouth to finally be able to keep everything they caught. It was a productive day with some nice size Sea Bass and Porgies. Some were a size that I had never seen before. For a short while we anchored up to Black Fish also. All of them were new to Black Fishing but they wanted to try. Now they know it is not as easy as just putting a gub of bait on a hook. I caught one and I got a look from all 5 of them and I knew it was time to pull the anchor. All in all it was a great day with a beautiful day in the fall season. Thanks guys, I'm really sorry I caught that Black fish.
