It's a 2 year old load-rite Five star trailer with 4 wheel disk brakes and the Tiedown actuator/coupler. After trailering for a few miles to my destination all 4 wheels were so hot you could smell them burning and you could not touch the rim or hub.

I jacked up the trailer and could not turn the wheels. I was able to release brakes with screw driver by pushing the actuator forward.

I hooked it back up to truck and went around the block and same thing happened. If I backed up a few feet and hit the brakes that would release the trailer brakes.

I spoke to a load-rite guy and a trailer repair shop. One guy is leaning toward the actuator and the other the calipers.

Just wondering if anyone had a this issue and what was the fix?

This is the actuator I have...Tiedown actuator https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdjDZ02u5rY

I'd take a close look at the actuator first. It's unlikely all 4 calipers are going to freeze up at the same time.

If your able to free up the brakes by moving the master with a screwdriver that tells ya right there the actuator is the problem.

Had the same issue years ago when corrosion after sitting for the winter would cause the actuator to stick. Same issue your having. R+R the actuator , bled the brakes and was good to go.

While your at it, lube your caliper slides with some good waterproof grease.
