Idk what weather site guys were using talking about a bad day sunday, but the sites i used had 10mph with some 15 gusts and it was less than that until later around 2-3pm

After John shit his pants at the marina we headed out and the ocean was flat and calm but there were some ripping under currents in some spots. In one spot we could fish straight up and down with 1-2oz no anchor (i even dropped a jig down with no bait to check the current and nailed a nice porgy on it) Other spots had RIPPING current and you could barely get away with 4-5oz, anchored, in 25' of water!

Porgy didn't care either way, it was as much as you wanted, mostly nice ones 11-13" and some up to 15". After we caught more than we wanted to clean, we gave blackfish a try and caught the tale end of a good bite that seemed to die with the tide change, but John managed a keeper before that. we also had seabass in the mix and puffers.

We also ran into some cocktail blues for a minute. My first cast with a new lure, I through a wind knot and while i was bringing it back in to fix it got whacked and snapped at the wind knot...good way to end the day haha.

Great photos as usual! Glad to see the bigger porkchops showing in NJ. We couldn't get away from them in LIS, tried fluking: porgies. Tried togging: more porgies.
