Sounds like when some fishermen say "enough is enough" they mean it.

I find it amusing that there are those on this site that will be all about turning to the "Pirate Life" because of how bad are regs are, yet when someone does exactly that, and gets caught, these same people are the first to condem them!
All I can say is if you want to be a Pirate be very careful who you are fishing next to!

From my point of view, there's a bit of a difference between taking home a short fluke and dumping 100's of lbs of dead fish overside.

Hopefully this event comes up on that boat's license renewal next year.
crazy, we may all have issues with the various limits and rightfully so, but just imagine if they weren't in place, this exploitation would be a very common occurrence, some guys just don't know when enough is enough:(

this is a product spawned by the government.if they had respectable bag limits
things like this would not happen as often as they are now.

While I understand all the points here Capt Dan is correct, This is a bad reflection on all recreational fishermen. No way that Captain wasn't either complacent about what was going on or was part of it and shouldn't be on the water.
Ed your point about the bad regs is valid but what most people miss is that NOAA already has plans in place to reduce our quota based on non compliance or "piracy" and they were vocal about it in the winter meetings. They knew some would fish outside the limits due to the regulations so as usual they put a reduction of quota percentage on it based on nothing but this backs up their assumption. If you fish outside the limits and think you got away with something think again because you may have on that day but the Feds already factored you in and took quota away from all that fish within the broken system.
Not only do I NOT agree with current bag limits / season closures based on faulty data but also hate the 10% fake mortality rate on Fluke short fish release. Maybe in the past but those days are long over.
While we fight to get the mortality rate percentage reduced its guys like this that add to now having to fight a non compliance / "piracy" percentage reduction.

I do not agree with the current regs at all. I think the government is way out of control interfering in our lives. I pay crazy high federal taxes and if I want to keep a fish, I will keep a fish. nothing is wasted. We eat what we catch. I will continue to violate these crazy laws. My violations may be a couple of sea bass or fluke out of season. I am not destroying the marine environment That being said, these clowns went way overboard and there should be some kind of action against them. But then, where do you draw the line?
