Corey Booker/Modern Fishing Act Help Needed

Well a big day for us in Washington DC where earlier this afternoon the Committe formed to review the merits and arguments of the bi partisan Modern Fishing Act were heard.

So here is where you all come in...Senator Corey Booker is on the committe needs to hear from all of you that he needs to support this or it will never get through the Senate and on to Congress for a vote. If it passes the Senate and House, it goes on to the to President's desk and we've been told he would sign it into law.

Hey Dan - Going to need some help from or all the PA Fishermen here once this bill goes to a vote. While your Senators and Congressmen don't have much a stake here, I know a lot of people in PA saltwater fish and you'll need to convince them to support it.

As always thanks for taking the time and lead on this and using the forum as a point of reference. I've been traveling lately and just saw your post. Email sent and I'll call Booker's office this week. Is there a way of tracking how many emails have been sent to date as well as how many have originated from this site. Reason I ask is as others have said, the only way we win this is legislatively and for as many members as there are of NJF, that's how many emails should have been sent to inundate Senator Booker's office. Until politicians understand this is important to us, their constituents, it WILL NOT be important to them. Politics is about power and money, and attention is paid to where the spot light and cameras are pointed. I'm pleading with everyone on this site to make sure in this case the spot light is pointed at The Modern Fishing Act, this link and Senator Booker's office. It's an opportunity whether your being asked to or not for your voice to be heard and matter.........something none of us should let slip by.

Hey Tom no way for me to tell how many emails were sent. They might be able to tell on their end how many they received but not sure if they will know if they came from this site.

Well there's 167 pages on the member's list and ~30 members per page so would be nice if Booker's office received ~5,000 emails just from this site alone. Couple that with the people we each know and no reason he shouldn't receive 50,000 emails just based on your post. Gentlemen and any ladies on this site, that's what this is going to take, 30 seconds or less to send the letter attached to the link and a few minutes to call your local representatives to let them know this is an important issue to you and that it matters.

Done. To Bookers credit as previously mentioned an actual human answers the phone. On the other hand, he made it clear that they are looking to protect the animals and thanked me for looking to do the same. Its worth a try though.
