Ah yes, kiddies...gather round. Cuzzin JJ has a tale to tell.
Had an uber-all star team on board the Monger this morning that included LeeAnn Rimes, Rubberband Pete, GDUBS, Bradley Cooper, BackCracker Larry, Doc Ev and John JR, the Ford Twins, Double Joe, and of course, The most amazing Wife EVER!
Capt. Jelly decided to stay inshore due to a bit of early snot and pound the pork chop grounds.
Holy S#@%T! Did we ever!!!!! Double-doubles of the nicest, biggest, juiciest pork chops ever....and heres the payoff:
we caught over 1000 fish in 2.5 hours, only keeping 750!
Thats right kiddies: NEW MONGER RECORD! 750 keeper chops in 2.5 hours. (only keeping our legal limit of course of 750 fish!)
I dont wanna say how many short pork chops and sea bass we threw back. It was stupid to even attempt to guess. LeeAnn Rimes and the most Amazing Wife Ever just hauled double after double. Only difference between was LeeAnn baited her own hooks. SHE WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guys...chick who baits her own hooks, catches her own fish, and wanted a knife to help filet later. I know, I know......say no more! She is now officially invited on every trip.
Once we filled every tote we could find, it was time to go for triggers and Tog.
Easy limit of tog and left them biting. Managed about 7-10 Big Trigs...couple keeper-sized fluke and sea bass (relax, relax...gently released to live till next year when the Monger crew will catch again)
Took 2 crew, and then 2 extra mates (who generously offered to cut the fish cleaning process in half!) 2.5 hours to clean all our fish!
Stupid fishing.....
Thanks everyone for a great, fun-filled, day. Capt. Jelly should have pics up on his site. This guy can just, plain, find fish. Period. End of story.
November cant come soon enough for striped bass, sea bass, and our annual tog-a-thons with the Monger Nation!
