I am seeing more and more undersized/unconventional boats out in the ocean. People fishing the ocean in Wave Runners...Pontoon Boats...14ft skiffs and you have to always have a eye out for kayaks even a few miles off the beach. I understand people wanting to fish and have fun but the ocean can get nasty real fast and vessels like this are just not built to be that far offshore. Maybe the terrible fishing in the bay may have something to do with it. Anyway...be safe and tight lines!

And don't forget to turn around and look back after you pass a smaller overloaded boat, in case your wake swamps them. Couple years ago I helped out some Pineys when their Jon boat sank like a rock from a wake. Luckily they had wetsuits on and were able to swim ashore. They had been clamming and had a couple hundred clams when they went down. The boat responsible didn't even look back.

2 guys died when a pontoon boat capsized in Manasquan Inlet on Black Friday in 2015.
