Had a mixed group of regulars and newbies on the boat today for an open fluke trip.
Had some bites early, picked a few keepers and some shorts as well as seabass. Made some moves, that dried up quick.
Made more moves, found less, so kept looking. Finally found an area with a few fish and picked some around different rockpiles. Some drifts we caught a few, others we caught nothing.
Conditions were wacky today with the N current and the S to SW wind. At times we were drifting into the wind b/c the current was so strong. Other times we went the other way.
Tough day. Managed 8 keepers to over 7# (Larry had a double limit) 3 seabass and a ling. All of the fluke in the box were nice fish, mostly 19-23".
