Quick weekend recap - good seabass fishing continues :)
Sat 6/10: Had Ruth and company onboard for Saturday's trip. A little heave, some strong northerly current created some wacky conditions and had the bite off. We bounced around both on the anchor and on the drift and still picked pretty well throughout the day, boxing around 40 keepers - also released several blackfish including one 4-5#er. Jig bite at times was insane. I fished all day with a 27 on the "trout rod" and had over 50 fish, with 12 keepers to 3#.
Sun 6/11: Completely different ocean today, no swell, no current. Fished in the sandeels to start and had a good bite on jigs and bait. Lots of shorts. Moved around, picked some here and there. Around 10 made a bigger move to a piece in the deep and when we got there the piece was loaded. Easily boxed up a limit of nice seabass plus a ling and a couple four-spots for Joe G and crew. Jig bite was good today, and at times wild, but for some reason not as good as Saturday.
