Great day today on the Fishermen! I got down to the boat nice and early and grabbed my spot. Got some breakfast and tied some rigs and off we went. Made it to the spot and i started with the jigging as always. First drift i wack a nice keeper followed by few shorts. 2nd drift i wack another keeper. Few shorts and a sea robin. Then i get another keeper. Limit by 9:30am!:D I had some good short action for a while after that but got another keeper little while later. Few more fish, a skate, and couple sea robins. Then when the day was almost over i get another nice fat keeper. So i end the day with bunch of shorts and 5 keepers { only keeping my limit } Capt Ron put us on the meat today. Lots of catching going on and it can only get better from here on. They were coming back after the jig if you missed them the first time. I had a few come back a few times and one that took me 3 times to get him. They were also grabbing the gulp but not really sucking it down like when they are super aggressive. But if you fished hard the fish were there and i saw limits all over. Today i fished white all day. It produced. I even dropped down a bait set up a few times when i got broken off on my jigging rod. No keepers for me on bait but did get a few shorts. They still want that meat! I actually swung on my first 2 keepers. lol. They didnt look as big as they were when i looked at em so i just flipped them up and sure enough they were good to go. All and all it was a great day. The weather started out kinda cold and little windy but as the day went on it just got better and better. Capt Ron and Joe were top notch as always.

Just want to say thank you to Capt Ron and Joe for a fun day on the water. See you guys next week

Way to go Jeff! Last year, you would of been able to fill that rack of 5 keeper fluke for your photo. 😩😩Was great black fishing in Nov with you and your dad on that NS charter out of Belmar. I'm on that same boat today bottom fishing.

Tight Lines!

Thanks guys. I enjoy catching fish no matter what but to get almost a double limit on my 3rd trip out is sweet. The shorts kept the action going for me most of the day.

My set up for jigging was a Penn Clash 2000 paired up with a bogan custom rod. 20# spider wire to 20# floro rig. No terminal tackle. My favorite set up. 2oz is like perfect on that rod to me. When i need to go with more lead i use a Blackhole challenger MH paired with a Accurate boss fury 300. Also have a nice rod Mike made for me a long time ago that is awesome if i want to use a spinning set up with more lead.

Bill it was great meeting you on that trip and i hope you get em today.

Gerry do i dare to say this is the year that we are going to put a hurting on em?!?
