It's over now. It lasted about 30 minutes. The gill netter is still hanging in though.

I caught, tagged and released 26" and 20" fork length bluefish on a Hopkin's in the inlet. Saw what looked like a sunk boat get towed up the inlet underwater with an air bag attached. An osprey flew to Point Pleasant with a sundial in its talons while a gull harassed it. Two ospreys were fishing in the pocket. A lone fisherman was at Dog Beach. Two kayak fishermen were nearby. Anybody know when parking regulations will be enforced at the inlet in Manasquan?

The boat being towed was the race boat involved with the tragedy last week. It was brought to Ken's Landing and hauled out. Yesterday's surf looked very, very bassy but there were no bass. I dream for that kind of water in November! The ospreys are just plain out cool. When the bunkers are around they eat well. The resurgence of the bunkers has been a major factor in the upswing of the osprey population. Good luck with inlet parking in the summer. Be sure to move your car on occasion since I think the PD marks tires during the day. Early morning is best anyhow because the boat traffic in the inlet is fierce from before sunup and throughout the day.
