friday left the dock at 6:30am on a ns from point.steamed for 45 minutes or so then tried anchoring.hard current made it tough so we drifted.it was game on with the jig as the sea bass would not let it alone.you had to weed thru the shorts but there were plenty of jumbos around.had good action at all spots and never had to touch a clam.ended the day with 8 jumbos and countless shorts.
headed down again saturday and fished the other ns from point.left the dock at 7am and steamed for about 25 minutes.very slow to start,a short here a short there.capt made a move and it was game on again with the jig.the sea bass were coming over the rail at a good pace, again you had to weed thru the shorts.we drifted that area a few times and headed to a new spot.we set up on the drift and again it is all you want sea bass on the jig.this time the keeper short ratio was much better.i jigged 5 jumbos in a row.all fish were like off shore size and man did they cream the jig.ended the day with my limit of big sea bass
and countless shorts.well i figured since the fishing was so good why not do three in a row and headed back down to the ns in point.we left the dock again at 7am and headed back to were we left them biting only to find the hard current and not many fish.we tried a few more place in shore with not much going on so we left for deeper water.we get to the spot and the capt drops both anchors.the current was not as bad off shore{???} and we started fishing.i started with the jig but only a few shorts.my friend next to me fishing bait is pulling ling one after another.i switch to clam and its game on with the ling.the bite lasted 45 minutes or so of just ling all around the boat.then like someone thru a switch the ling slowed and the pout took over.we bounced around the deep and on all drops we would get a few good fish then the pout would find us.alll and all i good day as i ended the day with 23 ling.good weekend of fishing for sure.
