I know! Here we go again with more complaining about the fluke regs, but all this talk by fishermen is falling on deaf ears! In my opinion, nothing will change until the regulators look at themselves.

We have been complying with regulations for a plan set in place by legislators many years ago. That plan was supposed to be based on scientific studies. If you can call the results of an algorithm science, then you and everyone else has been hoodwinked. Adding or not including only one factor changes results dramatically.

It's time for scientists who have been regulating our fluke quotas to evaluate just how successful their efforts have been. Have they ever said that their actions have shown desirable results? If they were the least bit successful we wouldn't be where we are now. They have to admit that their plan has failed and get out of the way!

If they admit that their plan is working, then we don't need anymore interference from them but that would put them out of work! What do you think they'll say ? If they say that their plan is not working, then they'll keep imposing regulations. If it's working, they'll want to make it work more by restricting us more so they can figure out a number of how many more fluke they want to add to their magic total.........a strictly subjective total that keeps changing every year. Their optimum number keeps changing. Most reasonably sane, unscientific people would, by now, have admitted their failure. Have you heard anyone say they've failed because their science has failed? Or, have you heard that their science is correct, and we are the problem?

They are the few and we are the many and yet, they win!
