All:
Since we can't fluke fish after Sept 5, why not help me organize a Million Angler March in Washington Labor Day weekend? Thousands of us with rod and reel in hand fighting for our rights...since NJ Dep and others have "compromised" and given in. Personally, I am fed up with others deciding when I can fish and how many fish I can keep.
My $200 offshore sea bass trip and I now have a bag limit of 5? Fluke reduced to a bag limit of 3? Porgy bag limit reduced to 15? Who's IN to join this fight?
BTW... I'm fishing for fluke tomorrow as the season opens in NY waters.

Bill,
We tried that twice with a rally going to Washington....only 2 Buses from Jersey made it while Florida had 18, Virginia & the Carolina's had more of a showing.
Many will sign a pettion, many will voice their opinion but this isn't their life, get on a bus, drive to DC? Loose a day's pay? Not going to happen as proven by the past. Ask your favorite Captains if they went to Washington, then tell me if we are not screwed!!!

Just take up golf, buy frozen fish sticks at the supermarket, time to move on.

And both times half the guys on the bus were commercial guys .
We had a horrible showing of recreational guys at either march.

Year after year we've marched, petitioned, flooded meetings, supported politicians, sent letters & emails, held fund raisers, and donated money to organizations to help us. What did it get us? Tough talk, broken promises, and reduced limits and seasons. So, another march? The decisions and back room deals are already made. Truth be told is that the recreational sector does not have the solidarity or money that the commercial sector has to buy who and what we want. I'm done drinking the Cool Aid, but you are welcome to partake after marching up a thirst.

As I said before, I made both of those previous trips. When I asked on the second trip why we were just pandering to the same polotical hacks, letting them just rattle on when we should be demanding their apology for not getting the job done the first time. I was told I didn't know what I was talking about and I should just leave the job to the pros! Well, I did and boy did they fix things for us!
The only busses needed are busses to carry these hacks out of town!

why blame the fisher peeps.they buy tackle & bait, the pay the charter or head boat, they save their money to be able to take the whole family and buy gas, food and all the other things that go along with a days fishing.they pay taxes on these things so the the gov has monies to do these studies on the fish stock here in nj.so you say there is no support from the rec peeps,i don't get it
because without them were would fishing be.no one has to fish.as i have said before and will ask again, what has nj did for the rec peeps???????
