Got a Troutfecta 4/24

Hit up my favorite trout grounds yesterday since I was off and had no to do list. Hit the water around 8:30 and was quickly hooked into a couple stockies. I was fishing not to far from another guy so I decided to head downstream a bit. Not to far down I hooked up again expecting another stockie bow but it ended up being a stocked brookie!?!? Fought pretty well for 12" and was a surprise considering they are not supposed to be stocked in this area......

Fishing slowed as I got further away from the "stocked" area. After a while I casted out and got WHACKED, but no hook up. Next cast same deal...... Decided to wait it out a few minutes, have a drink, and change lures. First cast, WHAM!! Fish is hooked up and goes ballistic with 3-4 consecutive jumps. It was a miracle he stayed on but I finally got him in and completed the troutfecta!!! Beautiful high teens brown with some great color!! Not quite as big as the ones I caught previously but the fight was outstanding!! I'm stoked..... :D

As far as I understand no. The state has a proposal to protect brookies, so I doubt they would stock and containment that stock. And for Browns- I'm not sure how they would deal with the furniculosis(sp) issue

Thanks all! From what I understand the state has secured funding to upgrade the hatchery to prevent another outbreak but hasn't begun the work yet. Only when that's complete will they consider stocking non-rainbows again. Probably be a couple years yet. That's why the presence of a stocked brookie is proof this was not NJ. :D

Also, Kcritch, I'll be wearing this, or another Ranger hat all year, lol. I try to keep the faith but what I lack in faith I make for with a shear inability to not watch every game. Even when they are stinking it up. Anyway, it's a new series tonight so I'll be tuned in for sure. Round 2, LGR!!!!!
