Been seeing some great posts lately! Nice job all! I hit Verona park pond on opening day. Water was pretty off color and the wind was steady. Conditions weren't great for lures but the powerbait crowd seemed to do well. Saw no less than 6-7 breeders caught over a 3 hour period. All but one was kept.

Friday I hit a state park stream to rinse off the skunk. Bounced around a bit catching a fish here and there. Last spot I hit, which was already being shared by 2 guys, yielded a nice male breeder bow. :D Short, stocky, shaped like a football with a well defined kype. Nice passerby offered to take a pic but while handing off the phone the fish self released. Eh, was gonna let him go anyway.......

Saturday I hit the sheds for the first trip of the season. Again the wind was steady and the lake was choppy but we launched anyway. Struggled most of the day with the chop but later on headed to a nice calm cove out of the wind. Picked up 2 fish in short order. One decent pickerel and an unbelievable smallie!!! Bronze bomber, Slammer Sammy??? Wasn't a great day on the water but the end result was definitely worth the effort...........

Thanks all! Won't catch many (?) more like that in a year.

And Crisper, I gotta say, I was actually surprised when they took game 1 and almost 2. I expected a one and done this year so I'm not disappointed. The only surprise to me is the way Hank snapped back right when the playoffs started. Thought he was headed to the glue factory... Maybe has another season left in him. Even Nash showed some heart. It's the Hayes, Steps, and Hate to say it, Millers that haven't earned their pay. Only down by a game so anything can happen. Anyway, if they lose, then I don't have to decide, fishing or Rangers playoffs, LOL !!!!!!! LGR!!!!

Shit, I would call that a great day with a Smallie like that !!!! NICE catch. When you say the shed, would Clinton be one of them you fished? Only reason I ask, I was just telling my wife that we need to make a trip there, it's a ride for me, but what a beautiful lake.
