We got our boat launched and arrived on the Raritan Back Bay grounds mid morning. Lots of boats in a few concentrated areas picking at fish. Marks were very scattered as were the birds so we set up with clams and casted around some shads and no love for us.
Decided to go to plan B, get out of the fleet and sniff around further to the east. Birds were scattered as were the marks so we made a half hearted attempt trolling some stretches with no takers.
About that time we lost the tide so we headed home. Once around the Naval Weapons Peer saw some birds diving, casted some shads but no takers.
Still a gorgeous day to be out on the water and to get the boat in the slip.
